Summary
Starcrush is a multiplayer fighting game inspired by Street Fighter, Tekken
and other well-known fighting games.
It can be played locally by two players. The game was created as an independent project at
Hochschule der Medien in the winter semester 2019/20.

Development
Starcrush was developed in a period of 4 months. This project was initially the idea of a fellow
student and was then implemented by us - a team consisting of six students. For the development we used
the Unity Engine. The game was created exclusively with 2D assets, but we also included a
parallax effect to create a certain spatiality.
The development was particularly exciting due to the very high asset quality. Almost all of the team members were
already more advanced in their studies than I was - and additionally very talented!
For me, Starcrush was the first game in my studies that I implemented in 2D. This circumstance was very challenging,
but it also gave me the opportunity to work intensively with 2D graphics and UI.
My role in development
In the team, I was the only programmer and coordinated and implemented all development steps in and around Unity.
This was very time consuming for me on one hand, but also gave me the opportunity to maintain full control and a
holistic overview of the game.
In this role, I incorporated the graphics, implemented feedback, programmed the logic, put together the UI,
and incorporated the music with a rudimentary sound system of my own.
Due to the fact that I was alone in the programming department, some features could unfortunately not be implemented.
For example, there is no keyboard and mouse control. The game can only be played with controllers.
